Dear Colleagues – CHIPTS is pleased to invite you to an upcoming virtual seminar entitled “Why Is It So Hard to Get People Housed? Innovative Housing Policies and Best Practices” on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, from 11:30 AM – 12:45 PM PT. See more information below and attached.
This seminar is the third session of a three-series discussion addressing housing in Los Angeles County including an overview of the current housing climate in LA County, harm reduction services, housing policies that impact the unhoused and best practices. During this third session, our featured panelists will specifically discuss housing policies and share best practices from different jurisdictions.
The objectives of this meeting are:
- To provide an overview of the current housing policies in Los Angeles County, Houston, New York City, and Seattle
- To understand the major policy obstacles to getting people housed
- To share innovative policy changes that have improved access to housing, and highlight best practices from various jurisdictions
We welcome attendees interested in working to provide access to housing, including but not limited to CBO staff, social services providers, HIV providers, mental health and substance use providers and academic researchers.
