The 3rd National Ending the HIV Epidemic Partnerships for Research Meeting hosted by UCLA CHIPTS and the UCLA-CDU Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) will take place on April 15-16, 2024, in-person at the UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center. This meeting will convene the CFAR/ARC Ending the HIV Epidemic (EHE) supplement project teams funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), community and public health partners, and others interested in HIV implementation research and practice to discuss supplement project findings and explore opportunities to advance high-impact HIV implementation research.  

The 2024 meeting theme is:Accelerating Innovations for Equitable Reach and Uptake of HIV Services.” Grounded in this theme, the meeting aims to:

  • Facilitate the dissemination of innovative implementation strategies and generalizable findings from the EHE supplement projects.
  • Promote best practices for research-community partnerships in HIV implementation research.
  • Offer opportunities for networking and exploring new collaborations to accelerate progress towards ending the HIV epidemic.

Registration is free and required for attendance. Scholarships are available to help cover the cost of airfare and/or hotel accommodations.

The UCLA Meyer and Renee Luskin Conference Center is offering a discounted hotel group rate for our meeting attendees. The Luskin hotel reservation deadline for this group rate is March 15, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PT, while supplies last. Registration for the meeting is required to book with the discounted group rate.

Past Meetings

2019 National EHE Summit

 

Hosted by the Third Coast CFAR on October 28-29, 2019, in Chicago, IL, this summit brought together the first 65 funded EHE supplement projects and was a precursor to the National EHE Meetings.

2021 National EHE Meeting

 

The first National EHE Meeting was hosted by NIH and the DC CFAR on April 14-15, 2021. Over 300 academic investigators and community and public health partners participated in this virtual event.

2022 National EHE Meeting

 

The second National EHE Meeting was hosted by the UAB CFAR in Birmingham, AL, on September 15, 2022. This hybrid meeting also offered a pre-event online implementation science training.

FAQ

When is the deadline for registration?

The early registration deadline is February 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PT. Participants who register by February 16, 2024, will be entered into a giveaway for a chance to win prizes. The final registration deadline is March 22, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PT, while supplies last. Registration will close automatically once capacity is reached.

Is there a registration fee?

There is no registration fee. The meeting is free to attend. However, all participants MUST register to be admitted into the meeting.

Are there meals provided with my registration?

Yes, breakfast and lunch are included with registration. 

Will I receive an email confirmation after I complete the online registration?

Yes, you will receive an email confirmation after registering for the meeting. If you do not see it in your inbox, check your spam/junk folder. Email chipts@mednet.ucla.edu if you do not receive an email confirmation.

Can I register to attend only one day of the meeting?

No, registration is only available for the full two-day meeting. If special circumstances will impact your ability to attend both meeting days, please email chipts@mednet.ucla.edu.

How do I cancel my registration if I can no longer attend?

Please email chipts@mednet.ucla.edu as soon as possible if you need to cancel your registration. This will allow us to open spots for others.

Is there a call for abstracts?

There is no call for abstracts. The meeting is comprised of plenary and invited presentations. If you are interested in submitting ideas for presentations, email chipts@mednet.ucla.edu.

I would like to stay extra nights at the Luskin hotel. How do I book them?

The UCLA Luskin hotel is offering a special discounted rate for attendees from Sunday, April 14 (check in), through Tuesday, April 16 (check out), while supplies last. The discounted room rate may be applied to early arrivals and late departures (up to 3 days) based on room availability. Are there scholarships available to help with travel or accommodation costs?

We are offering partial and full scholarships to help cover airfare and/or hotel costs. The scholarship application deadline was January 26, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. PT.

If you do not meet the scholarship eligibility criteria but are involved in EHE research and would need financial support to participate in the meeting, please email chipts@mednet.ucla.edu. We will assess additional requests for support on a case-by-case basis, pending available funding.

Will there be parking for the event?

Yes, there will be parking available in a nearby lot. It is walking distance to the meeting venue. Please indicate your anticipated parking needs when you register for the meeting. Registrants will receive parking and other logistical details via email in early April before the meeting.
