About
The UCLA Rapid, Rigorous, Relevant (3R) Implementation Science Hub provides leadership and support for HIV-related implementation research emphasizing pragmatic study designs and methods that address health equity and produce sustainable solutions. As of August 2025, the Hub is supported by a grant from the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (R24AI191868-01A1).
Hub Goal
The unique goal of the UCLA 3R IS Hub is to provide leadership and support for 3R HIV-related implementation research emphasizing pragmatic study designs and methods that address fairness in health and produce sustainable solutions.
Core Activities
- Provide expert, tailored consultation, coaching, and technical assistance for EHE implementation research grantees.
- Facilitate cross-grantee collaboration to promote knowledge-sharing and opportunities for partnership to enhance our collective EHE implementation research efforts.
- Offer high-quality training and educational opportunities to build capacity in HIV-related implementation science among grantees and the broader EHE community, with a focus on cutting-edge 3R content, methods, strategies, models, theories, and frameworks.
- Promote acceleration of HIV research impacts by collaborating with the HIV Implementation Science Coordination Initiative (ISCI), the other funded hubs, and IS consortia, and by identifying resources and opportunities for advancing evidence-based interventions through the implementation pipeline.
- Participate in cross-hub, multisite implementation research and evaluation projects.
- Support locally driven solutions to implementation challenges through integrating improvement science into our implementation science capacity-building efforts.
Our multidisciplinary UCLA 3R IS Hub team has diverse expertise to support high-impact HIV implementation science activities.
