Dear Colleagues – Our partners at the California Community Foundation (CCF), UCLA Center for Behavioral and Addiction Medicine (UCLA CBAM), Community Response System of South Los Angeles (CRSSLA), and SELA Collaborative are hosting a virtual forum entitled “COVID-19 Findings and Perspectives – From South Los Angeles to East Los Angeles” on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, from 11 AM – 12:30 PM PT. Please find more information from our partners below and attached.

Save the Date for an upcoming virtual forum entitled, “COVID-19 Findings and Perspectives – From South Los Angeles to East Los Angeles” planned for September 14, 2022, 11am -12:30pm PT.

The communities of South Los Angeles and Southeast Los Angeles were disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 over the past two years of the pandemic. As the pandemic unfolded, key community-driven collaboratives came together to improve access to equitable testing and vaccinations. This virtual convening will highlight the effective strategies implemented by these collaboratives to address the inequities during the COVID-19 pandemic and share key policy recommendations for future response and recovery efforts. The objectives of this forum are to:

  • Spotlight community networks and leadership that led COVID-19 crisis responses in South LA and Southeast LA.
  • Be productive in addressing South LA and Southeast LA communities’ needs.
  • Advocate to policymakers to start/center with these South LA and Southeast LA community networks and leadership in their response and recovery efforts.

We welcome participation from community members, community leaders, funders, members of health systems and organizations who worked on COVID-19 response, and policy makers responsible for response and recovery resources in South and Southeast Los Angeles.
