Dear Colleagues – CHIPTS is pleased to invite you to an upcoming virtual seminar entitled “Why Is It So Hard to Get People Housed in Los Angeles County? Exploring Harm Reduction Strategies for Those Experiencing Homelessness and Living with HIV and/or Substance Use and/or Mental Health Disorders” on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM PT. This seminar is the second session of a 3-series discussion addressing housing in Los Angeles County including an overview of the current housing climate in LA County, harm reduction services, housing policies that impact the unhoused and best practices. During this second session, our featured panelists will specifically discuss harm reduction strategies in Los Angeles County especially for key populations experiencing homelessness, substance use, and/or mental health. The objectives of this meeting are to:

  • To provide an overview of the current harm reduction services in Los Angeles County
  • To better understand the challenges of those experiencing homelessness and living with HIV and/or substance use and/or mental health disorders
  • To share best practices and innovative harm reduction service delivery options and opportunities for implementation

We welcome attendees interested in working to provide access to housing, including but not limited to CBO staff, social services providers, HIV providers, mental health and substance use providers and academic researchers.
