NIH Public Access Policy Workshop

CHIPTS is providing publication management assistance to investigators funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) by hosting an “NIH Public Access Policy Workshop” on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM PT.

According to the NIH Public Access Policy (NOT-OD-05-022), investigators funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) must submit an electronic version of their final, peer-reviewed manuscripts to the National Library of Medicine’s PubMed Central (PMC) upon acceptance of publication. PubMed Central, which is NIH’s free digital archive of biomedical and life sciences journal literature, will then make the paper freely available to the public no later than twelve months after publication.

We are inviting investigators to ensure publications are in compliance with the NIH Public Access Policy and properly linked to affiliated grants. In this workshop, you will learn about what your options are for compliance. The workshop also discusses the UC Open Access Policy, which requires all University of California research publications to be deposited in the eScholarship repository.
