CHIPTS is excited to invite you to a career-development webinar titled “Proposal Basics: Preparing Applications for Research Funding” on Thursday, September 22, 2022 from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM PT. Learn more and register below.
During this webinar, Laura Sheehan, Manager of Research Administration for the Department of Family Medicine at UCLA DGSOM, will discuss funding opportunities, fundamentals of preparing a proposal (including creating a budget), and the lifespan of a research project from inception to close-out. The objectives of the webinar include:
- Providing a basic overview of the research funding process, including identifying appropriate funding opportunities, exploring different kinds of sponsors, and understanding typical proposal components.
- Describing the lifespan of a research project from development to close-out.
- Discussing the fundamentals of preparing a research proposal, including tailoring research plans to specific opportunities, creating a budget, organizing your team, building a timeline for submission, and how to avoid common mistakes.
All are welcome. We especially encourage emerging investigators, post-doctoral students, and graduate students interested in research to join.
