Our partners from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Region 9 Prevention through Active Community Engagement (PACE) Program are working with their Region 6 colleagues to host a virtual panel discussion in observance of National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. This event is entitled Inclusivity in the Fight Against HIV: Empowering Women in HIV Prevention and is coming up on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, from 11 AM – 12:15 PM PST / 1 PM – 2:15 PM CST.

Dr. Dilara Üsküp, CHIPTS Policy Impact Core Scientist and Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Sciences, will be featured as the keynote presenter.

Discussion topics include:

  • Review key federal activities and Ending the HIV Epidemic updates centered on women/girls.
  • Learn about the impact of HIV/AIDS on women/girls and the role of PrEP/PEP/U=U to end HIV.
  • Discuss barriers and challenges impacting women/girls from accessing prevention services.
  • Hear innovative strategies from local partners to increase HIV prevention awareness tools among women/girls.
