CHIPTS is proud to announce our 2023 mentored pilot grant program for emerging and new investigators (ranging from Doctoral Students to Assistant Professors). Through this grant program, applicants will obtain individualized, mentored research from engaged and committed faculty mentor/sponsors while conducting a well-defined research project. The successful completion of the proposed mentored research project is expected to enhance emerging and new investigators’ potential to develop into productive, independent research scientists.
The infographic, entitled HIV Risk Reduction and Earned Income Tax Credit discusses the EITC which is an anti-poverty program that provides cash assistance to lower income individuals. The research shows that single women with children reduce their HIV risk just by claiming. The infographic was created by the California HIV/AIDS Policy Research Center in 2022.
Abstract submission and registration are now open for the CHIPTS HIV Next Generation Conference on Friday, December 2, 2022. The conference is free to attend and will be virtual. The goal of this conference is to support the next generation of HIV researchers, HIV prevention and treatment practitioners, and service providers working towards an end to HIV/AIDS through networking and sharing visions for future priorities.
The CoVPN provided a list of materials for community workers and service providers leading the fight against COVID-19, the resources include educational videos, infographics, and downloadable fact sheets. Resources describe COVID variants, COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials, and the importance of vaccination to address disparities in hospitalization and death.

2019 annual meeting program for the LA County Commission meeting that discuss new and current funding, proposals, efforts, frameworks, directions, and timelines aimed at Ending the HIV Epidemic. The commission meeting allows guests and the public into a space where people of all opinions and backgrounds are able to contribute. The meeting strives to be introspective and understand and clarify our assumptions, while appreciating the complex intersectionality of the lives we live.

The materials focus on the origins of mistrust in discrimination, implications for HIV prevention and treatment, and associations with HIV -related behaviors.
