Contributing to our center’s mission, CHIPTS Conference Scholarship Program is to provide opportunities and support for early-stage investigators and students (e.g. graduate-level, pre- and post-doctoral students) to attend HIV-related conferences in efforts to promote science, foster networking, and increase capacity building.    There is a limited number of scholarships available based on funding availability with certain restrictions applied.

To be eligible, candidates:

  • Must be recommended and sponsored by a CHIPTS faculty member
  • Must provide proof/documentation that he/she has registered and has been accepted to attend the conference
  • Must attend a CHIPTS meeting to share what they learned and to write a one-page summary of their gained experience

Priorities will be given to those who have been accepted to give oral presentations at the conference and those who have not received scholarship funds from CHIPTS within the last 12 months.  Those who are recommended to receive the scholarship will be asked to complete a short form in order to process the airfare through UCLA Travel.   The scholarship does not cover reimbursement of airfare that has already been booked or pre-paid.
