We are no longer accepting applications for the 2019 CHIPTS Conference Scholarship Program. Please visit our website next year for our 2020 cycle. We encourage you to subscribe to our Listserv for regular updates.
Contributing to our center’s mission, CHIPTS Conference Scholarship Program is to provide opportunities and support for early-career investigators, students (e.g. graduate-level, pre- and post-doctoral students), and community advocates/researchers to attend HIV-related conferences in efforts to promote science, foster networking, and increase capacity building. There is a limited number of scholarships available based on funding availability with certain restrictions applied.
To be eligible, candidates:
- Must be considered an early-career investigator, student (e.g. graduate, pre- or post-doctoral), or a community advocate/researcher in the field of HIV
- Must be recommended and sponsored by a CHIPTS faculty member
- Must provide proof/documentation of having an HIV-related oral or poster presentation or workshop accepted at the conference and
- Must attend a CHIPTS meeting to share what they learned and to write a one-page summary of their gained experience
Priorities will be given to those who have not received scholarship funds from CHIPTS within the last 12 months. The scholarship covers only domestic airfare cost for one round-trip economy class ticket and must be booked through the UCLA Travel Center. The scholarship does not cover reimbursements for past trips.
