Susan Alvarado, MPH
Susan Alvarado, MPH, started her work started her work in the HIV field when she served in Guatemala as a Peace Corps volunteer. Through the support of PEPFAR funds (The United States President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief), Susan was able to train health care providers, community members, women and youth on HIV prevention in rural Guatemala for the two years of her service. Susan graduated with her Master’s in Public Health with an emphasis on community health education from California State University, Northridge in 2016. She currently participates in the Los Angeles PEP/PrEP Work Group and the LA County Provider and Educators Network (LACPEN) to support PrEP initiatives, including among women in LA County.
