Charlie Mann is a current UCLA undergrad (’19) studying sociology and statistics, with a focus on HIV/AIDS research and issues surrounding the LGBT community. On top of student research projects, he assists APLA with Project Rise, a community-based research study centered on improving HIV medication adherence in a targeted intervention for African American people, and the NOLP (Necessities of Life Program), a food bank service explicitly serving HIV+ clients. Additionally, he works with Reach LA to use LGBT dance and art forms to spread awareness about sexual health, HIV testing, and prevention. He is also an active participant in the underground ball scene in LA and a semi-professional vogue dancer / choreographer who competes and teaches around the country.
