Abstract: Los Angeles County (LAC) is home to nearly 62,000 people with HIV disease. This presentation will describe today’s HIV/AIDS epidemic in the metropolitan area with the second highest number of HIV/AIDS cases in the U.S. LAC Department of Public Health data will be presented to highlight racial/ethnic and other disparities in HIV transmission, care, and treatment. We will present information on current and planned programs to address persistent challenges in HIV prevention and care. The group will be asked to prioritize additional analyses, research, and interventions to help address disparities and gaps in HIV prevention, care, and treatment.
