Meeting Description:

The Center for Strengthening Youth Prevention Paradigms (SYPP Center) invites you to participate in a webinar with Harm Reduction Coalition, a national advocacy and capacity-building organization that promotes the health and dignity of individuals and communities impacted by drug use.

This webinar is part of the “Third Thursdays Webinar Series,” which is designed for HIV prevention providers serving youth, particularly young gay men and transgender youth of color.

After this webinar, you will be able to:

  1. Understand how social determinants of health affect the behaviors of LGBTQ youth.
  1. Apply a harm reduction approach with LGBTQ youth who engage in risk-taking behavior.
  1. Explain how a critical competency framework promotes positive LGBTQ youth engagement.

Housed at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, the SYPP Center provides capacity building assistance (CBA) services to communities seeking to prevent HIV/AIDS among youth, with an emphasis on young gay men and transgender youth of color.  The SYPP Center offers a framework for communities to create sustainable structural changes and build healthy community coalitions that respond to local needs.

This project is supported by Cooperative Agreement Number 5U65PS001708-04 from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Its contents are solely the responsibility of the authors and do not necessarily represent the official views of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
