Charles Drew University Pacific AIDS Education Center is providing this training, aimed specifically at physician, nurse practitioners, and other prescribing clinicians, in order to allow these clinicians to recognize and treat psychiatric conditions in their HIV-positive patients.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss the prevalence of psychotropic medication use among HIV positive individuals
  2. Explain the effects of HIV and psychotropic medication use
  3. Identify the relevant interactions between psychotropic and antiretroviral medication use
