On October 16, 17, and 18, 2012, the Behavioral & Social Science Volunteer (BSSV) Program, a national Capacity Building Assistance (CBA) Provider funded through a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will host a 3-day training series in Oakland targeting Program Managers, Case Managers, Clinicians, Mental Health Providers, and other key staff at community-based organizations (CBOs), entitled:
“HIV Integrated Care – Integrating Mental Health and Substance Abuse Assessment and Treatment into HIV Prevention”

This training will cover three key areas:

Introduction to Mental Health & Substance Use Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment
-
Effective Relationship Building and Symptom Management of Clients with Co-Occurring Disorders in HIV Programs
-
Risk Reduction, HIV Testing, Retention in Care and Adherence to Treatment for Clients with Co-Occurring Disorders
