Presents:

A Training Seminar on Qualitative Research Using ATLAS.ti

The UCLA AIDS Institute Training & Education Program Area will be hosting a 2-day training workshop on how to conduct qualitative research using ATLAS.ti computer software.  This workshop will be tailored to HIV/AIDS psychosocial and behavioral researchers conducting qualitative analyses. It will take researchers from no skills in ATLAS.ti to readiness to use the program, including significant time on computer-assisted analysis strategies.

Alison Hamilton, Ph.D., M.P.H., will be leading the workshop.  Dr. Hamilton has been training investigators to use ATLAS.ti for qualitative research for the past 13 years.  Investigators will receive broad instructions on the use of ATLAS.ti through a lecture format, followed by interactive hands-on instructions.

Requirements: Participants will need to bring their own qualitative data along with their own laptops containing the downloadable sample ATLAS.ti software (sample software can be downloaded from the ATLAS.ti website).

Dates & Location: The 2-day workshop will be held on May 10th (Thursday) and 11th(Friday).  The times will be 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM.  We will notify all registered participants of specific UCLA room location and times as they are finalized.

Registration: There is room for a maximum of 30 people due to the interactive and hands-on approach.   Registration is on a first come-first serve basis.  There is no cost for this workshop, as this training is being sponsored by the UCLA AIDS Institute.  Please be respectful – Only register if you are able to attend.

To register, please contact Ms. Louise Datu at ldatu@mednet.ucla.edu.

If you have any questions about the training, you may contact John K. Williams, M.D. at (310) 825-8810 or at KeoniWmd@aol.com.
