The UCLA CFAR/AIDS Institute Training & Education Program Area is hosting a one-day intensive training on advanced qualitative data analysis using ATLAS.ti. This training is tailored to HIV/AIDS psychosocial and behavioral researchers conducting qualitative research. The training assumes familiarity with qualitative data analysis and ATLAS.ti; those who have not used the software may benefit but will not be provided with basic skills training. The focus will be on maximizing use of ATLAS features that are beyond the scope of an introductory training.

Alison Hamilton, Ph.D., M.P.H., will be leading the workshop. Dr. Hamilton has been conducting ATLAS.ti and other qualitative methods trainings for over 13 years. She will draw upon her analytic experience in varied psychosocial and behavioral research projects to help participants move effectively and productively through analysis of qualitative data.

Requirements: Participants will benefit most if they bring their laptops with the software already loaded, preferably with an analysis already underway.

Dates & Location: The one-day training will be held on Friday, June 8th from 9:30-1:30.  We will notify all registered participants of the location once it is finalized.

Registration: There is room for a maximum of 30 people due to the interactive and hands-on approach.   Registration is on a first come-first serve basis.  There is no cost for this workshop, as this training is being sponsored by the UCLA CFAR/AIDS Institute.  Please be respectful and only register if you are able to attend.

To register, please contact Ms. Louise Datu at ldatu@mednet.ucla.edu.

If you have any questions about the training, you may contact John K. Williams, M.D. at (310) 825-8810 or at KeoniWmd@aol.com
