Career Advancement for Scientists:
Becoming Effective Leaders
May 21, 9am-4pm and May 22, 9am-12pm
California NanoSystems Institute, UCLA
We invite you to invest one and a half days exploring your own leadership style and how it impacts your ability to direct and motivate others in your research group. You will be guided through a series of seminars, small group discussions and case studies by UCSF Professor and science leadership training expert, Ed O’Neil. At the end of the workshop you will understand better how to communicate with individuals with different personality types, how to give and receive feedback and how to engage skillfully in difficult conversations.
This workshop is provided to research scientists for a modest, subsidized registration fee, thanks to the generous sponsorship of several UCLA campus organizations.
Please visit the workshop website to register:
Registration Ends – May 13, 2012!
The UCLA CFAR has sponsored registration for 10 researchers to this leadership workshop. 5 of these places are still available. If you would like to participate in the workshop, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to claim a free spot!
